Position: Store Manager What That Means Store managers are the conductor of the entire store enginethey supervise our store staff, meet customer needs, and plan and coordinate sales, merchandising, and tracking the budget. Managers should be energetic and enthusiastic, working effectively and efficiently under pressure and with deadlines, and bring their significant experience to bear in retail business and human resources. What Youd Be Doing Maintaining store staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; analyzing current and future sales projections to meet appropriate store staffing levels and schedules.Completing operational needs by scheduling and assigning tasks and following up on results.Coaching, counseling, mentoring, providing positive reinforcement, and managing employee performance to ensure employee accountability and success.Managing labor and sales budgets to meet financial goals and other budgetary assignments.Identifying current and future customer opportunities and staffing requirements by analyzing current and future sales trends and forecasts.Developing and executing merchandising initiatives related to seasonal and community events and partnering with corporate merchandising teams to manage proper inventory levels.Ensuring merchandise availability by approving contracts while maintaining inventories and maximizing availability with accurate and timely freight flow from the time the stock is received until it hits the sales floor.Implementing and practicing adequate measures for employee and customer safety and to protect company assets.Conducting daily store tours to identify, prioritize, and resolve store opportunities and ensure all company directed initiatives are being executed.Complying with legal requirements, including the personal ability to sell firearms.Building loyal relationships with current and future customers by representing Big R at local community events and initiatives.Identifying and reacting to local changes in the retail market.Maintaining an open-door policy with all employees to encourage and maximize their growth opportunities through continuous training and development and communicating with them regularly through daily and weekly meetings.Other responsibilities as assigned based on company need. What You Bring to the Job At least five years of retail management experience, with the ability or track record of leading teams and effectively delegating work.You are like a Swiss Army Knife; you can prioritize and handle multiple tasks and work efficiently.
