Role description:
We are looking to add an Intern, Sustainability Advisory to join our North America business. As an Intern, Sustainability Advisory, you will be a key contributor to our regional Sustainability Advisory team in the U.S. and Canada, serving on project delivery teams for one (or several) Arcadis sustainability capabilities (Sustainability Strategy and Program Design, Sustainability Measurement, Sustainability Goal Setting and Achievement Plans, Sustainability Reporting and Engagement, Net Zero Strategy, etc.).
One of our key global priorities is focused on solving our clients most complex sustainability challenges. As such, you will be a key member of a variety of climate and sustainability projects and contribute to development of innovative approaches to solve client challenges, reporting to our North America Managing Director, Sustainability Advisory. This role will work horizontally across our three Global Business Areas, Mobility, Places and Resilience, draw upon their capabilities as needed to support the advisory team and drive demand for the "pull-through" of Arcadis' other technical services. The ideal candidate for this role will build competence & skills within the company, aligned with future solution and client needs.
Role accountabilities:
Act as a resource on projects to support the successful delivery of specific outputs individually or as part of a team for sustainability advisory projects focused on GHG accounting, ESG reporting, target setting, NetZero strategy and modeling
Identify information sources and collect relevant data to support project delivery
Analyze data to uncover insights that will inform the design of consulting solutions and development of sales proposals
Contribute to the preparation of client reports and presentations
Present the outcomes of analysis at team meetings to ensure the insights gained are clearly communicated and to propose ways in which these may be leveraged to add value
Develop understanding of the services delivered by Arcadis and of client businesses to enable personal performance improvement and career development
Collaborates with Sustainability Advisory North America team members and peers across geographies
Desired Experience
Experience in GHG accounting, sustainability reporting, science based targets, recognized ESG standards and frameworks such as GRI, SASB, TCFD, CDP, GRESB,
Effective research, data gathering and analysis skills
Proficient in desktop applications (e.g. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Strong data science and analytics skills
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Effective time management skills
Developing consulting skills including project management, relationship management, sector expertise and service line expertise
Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Able to Implement assigned business tasks utilizing increasing skills, techniques and methods with supervision
Readiness to take on tasks as needed to support the goals of the business and the needs of the workgroup

Qualifications & Experience:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in relevant field of study such as environmental science, sustainability, engineering or business with sustainability background or related field
Preferred Qualifications:
Pursuing a Master's Degree in relevant field of study such as environmental science, sustainability, engineering or business with sustainability background or related field
Additional training and or certifications in sustainability
Experience in sustainability including academic work and extracurricular activities
