Senior Quality Engineer (Finance)
Looking to lead quality related activities in the selection of and interaction with contract manufacturing organizations to ensure product and product components meet specified performance criteria for a Fortune 200 Company with some of the most iconic brands? If you have a bachelor's degree in Engineering along with 10 plus years of experience in a product development, engineering, or manufacturing quality roles, we want to speak with you! We are currently seeking a Sr. Quality Engineer on our Technology and Program Solutions Team in Richmond, VA. The role will develop and implement reliability testing/auditing methodologies to ensure that quality of CMO outputs are maintained and resolve quality issues in collaboration with key partners.
In this role you will:
• Developing critical product/process technical quality requirements in support of the evaluation and selection of third-party CMOs that manufacture consumer electronics and associated components. Supporting due diligence assessment of new CMOs.
• Handling the transfer of product technical and quality requirements to CMOs and being responsible for testing and ensuring the functionality of technical product components delivered from CMOs and other suppliers.
• Monitoring and maintaining critical product quality attributes of CMOs outputs. Devising and implementing reliable sampling and testing plans, including verification and validation of methodologies.
• Performing root cause and statistical analyses on defects and recommending and implementing remedial actions.
• Serving as key contact and interacting with CMOs' quality staff on quality work streams following transfer of requirements. Serving as integrator for Altria's Quality Function and the RRPD (Reduced Risk Product Development) team on all quality related matters.
• Serving as an authority on quality considerations throughout product development process from early prototyping to commercialization. Integrating Quality by Design methodology while taking FDA regulations into consideration.
• Handling quality system documentation related to CMOs quality.
We want you to have:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required. Advanced degree or certification in a relevant subject area preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in product development/engineering/manufacturing quality roles.
• Consumer electronics experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, coordinate and influence multi-functional partners without direct authority.
• Statistical and analytical skills and experience testing a variety of complex technical components or products
• Demonstrated oral and written communication skills. Must have the ability to deliver effective formal presentations to senior management.
• Frequent international travel required.
