Job Summary
Purpose: This position is responsible for developing marketing policies and program systems to support our strategic direction and align international business plans with organizational objectives. The Vice President Global Marketing partners with global and regional commercial management teams to ensure the best possible messaging and effective communications to company customers and consumers. This role is responsible for providing executive leadership and management of the Company's Global Marketing organization, for establishing the global standards for both in-bound and out-bound marketing activities worldwide through the engagement and involvement of regional and country level marketing, including, corporate marketing, partner/channel marketing, product marketing, and product management.
The VP Global Marketing will work closely with Regional leadership to provide marketing expertise and programs to support regional activities and coordinate with global objectives.
Essential Functions
Develop annual marketing plan in support of organizational strategy and objectives.
Commercial strategic planning to include corporate positioning, market and competitive analysis, customer segment selection and penetration plans, and related product positioning.
Ensure marketing communications are coordinated, support marketing plan objectives and meet organizational expenditure requirements.
Develop product floor pricing.
Grow and develop the Global Marketing team competencies and leadership capabilities
Oversee marketing communications including branding, public relations, advertising, white papers, trade shows, seminars and events collateral materials, analyst and market research management, and website design and content either directly or on an outsourced basis.
Collaborate with regional Sales to develop and manage channel and partner strategies and programs.
Provide brand management for the company. Including brand positioning, P&L analysis and best practice execution. Direct an integrated digital communication strategy.
Monitors competitive products and marketing activities. Plans and oversees advertising and promotion activities including print, online, and electronic media.
Oversee product management including market and customer research for market and product requirements
Lead the development of the innovation for the company's product and service pipeline
Interface with Divisional and Commercial Strategy, R&D and Sales for product development, product pricing and product lifecycle management.
Oversee product marketing including product launch management, marketing training, presentations, sales tools, competitive analysis and general sales support
Lead the marketing organization in the development of marketing excellence platform, including competency development and career roadmaps.
Drive best practice sharing across the marketing organization
Be a role model for the company culture.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to plan and manage at both strategic and operational levels.
Exceptional track record of developing and implementing marketing and sales strategies that have consistently met or exceeded planned objectives, providing personal leadership through example.
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a results-driven, team oriented, matrixed environment.
Demonstrated ability to manage often outsourced marketing activities (e.g., PR, corporate identity, website, etc.).
Experience in choosing, deploying, and using marketing software applications.
Substantial experience working with business and industry press.
Strong strategic planning and analysis skills in sales, marketing, and competitive business strategy.
Office-based with extensive travel to other CVI locations, customer sites and industry events.
Must be able to travel commercially and globally
Sedentary to light physical effort necessary to perform the job.
>15 years marketing experience in comparable industries with >5 years in a senior management position
