Staff Attorney (Legal)
The Staff Attorney position will assist the General Counsel in all legal-related matters. This attorney will be responsible for performing legal research and communicating results of that research to the General Counsel. At the direction of the General Counsel, this attorney will be responsible for employment law matters throughout the credit union. This attorney will also be a HIPAA Privacy Officer, along with the General Counsel.
The Staff Attorney position provides legal services to the credit union assisting staff at all levels: reviews changes in disclosures, policies and procedures for legal implications; drafts legal correspondence and documents representing the credit union.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Minimum formal education required for this position:
Law degree (Juris Doctor) from an accredited law school
Each year of relevant work experience may be exchanged for a year in a relevant degree program or vice versa. For example, a requirement of “Knowledge Consistent with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and 2+ years' of accounting experience” could be substituted for a High School Diploma and 6 years of relevant accounting work experience or a Master's Degree in Accounting and 0 years of work experience.
Minimum work experience:
5+ years' as a practicing attorney in law firm or corporate environment
3+ years' experience in Employment Law (Preferred) and/or HIPAA

Starting salary range-$83,158.40+
