Radiology Technologist | Radiology | Elkhart General Hospital (Finance)
JOB SUMMARY
Reports to the Coordinator/Director. Operates basic radiologic equipment determining the quality and quantity of ionizing radiation to make quality radiographs on injured and/or sick patients as directed by physicians following accepted policies and procedures under the direction of radiologists.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
The knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated below are normally acquired through graduation from an approved school of radiology technology with subsequent registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and certification by the State Board of Health.
Knowledge & Skills
Requires knowledge of radiation emitting units.
Demonstrates skills to position patients properly for all examinations.
Demonstrates analytical skills needed to make judgments regarding quality of radiographs.
Demonstrates well-developed communication skills to understand written and verbal instructions.
Working Conditions
Hospital environment with hazards due to radiation.
Wears lead protective aprons and gloves during certain procedures; must wear film badge and maintain strictly controlled standards.
Must be able to take call and arrive at the hospital within 30 minutes of being called in.
Physical Demands
Requires the physical ability and stamina (i.e., to walk/stand for prolonged periods of time, push carts/wheelchairs up to 50 pounds, to position/lift patients at a maximum of 35 pounds unassisted, over 35 pounds requires assistance, provide CPR, etc.) to perform the essential job functions of the position.
