Research Program Manager (Finance)



Nemours is seeking a Research Program Manager to join our Nemours Children's Health team in Jacksonville, FL.

The Research Program manager will administratively support and work with the PI's, program leader(s) and research administration to help the research program achieve goals and organize activities within the assigned programs and with collaborators. The Program Manager will work with individual PIs to support the fiscal responsibilities of assigned grants and projects for North Florida's research programs/centers. The program manager will serve as a liaison to provide local support for PIs in the fiscal needs of research grants, programs, and centers while assisting with program planning, budgeting, program implementation, cost analyses, and maintenance of processes, methods, and procedures. The incumbent will work with closely with Nemours central offices and liaison with other Nemours teams to facilitate and manage various projects and awards.

Essential Functions:

  • Programmatic oversight of research grants programs/centers as well as planning, budgeting, program implementation/cost maintenance, and methods/procedures
  • Assist with development and tracking of grant budgets/spending and projecting and budgeting for expenses. Assist with documentation for grant-related purchases (including single source documentation and/or competitive quotes)
  • Work with the Sponsored Programs Administration to track subcontracts (e.g., establishing new subcontracts, amendments, documentation to assist with invoicing)
  • Monitoring center budget to ensure alignment with budgeted projections throughout the budget period.
  • Composing and editing of correspondence to sponsors, affiliates, and partners on principal investigators' behalf
  • Assist with oversight of research grant team members effort on grants as well as other grant-funded personnel and adjust labor distribution schedule as needed.
  • Assist with preparation of new grant/project submissions, project/grant renewals, and progress reports
  • Liaison with various ancillary departments (e.g., OSP, IRB, IBC, IACUC)
  • Monitor/maintain any social media for associated Centers and research divisions.
  • Liaison with scientist recruitment, preparing job description and job posting, planning, and coordinating schedules for candidate interviews.
  • Manage invited speaker logistics assisting with communications, travel preparations, and courtesy follow up post-events, etc.
  • Assist faculty/center directors in identifying new research contracts or grant opportunities.
  • Performing duties as a self-starter working independently with a superior customer service attitude and excellent writing skills.
