Whether it's just for recreation, earning to swim, or serious competition, the Y offers safe, healthy aquatics activities for kids of all ages and abilities. The Aquatics Timing Specialist is responsible for administering all timing for assigned YMCA swim meets. The Timing Specialist oversees the management of event timing and collaborates with YMCA groups to meet the needs of the swim meet participants. Ideal candidates will be able to role model the YMCA core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility at all assigned events.Starting Wage Range:$12.60Proposed Starting Date:ASAPKey Qualifications:Must have a basic understanding of swimming and swim meets. Ability to execute timing function through entire process including timing, set-up, tear-down, posting/confirming results, post-event management of timing inquiries. Must be flexible and work in both an office environment and at fast paced event venues. Ability to multi-task in the areas of timing management, race production, and on-line registration. Knowledge of event timing protocols and knowledge of timing software is a plus. Additional Requirements:Must have strong organizational, decision making and time management skills, along with strong computer skills; including database knowledge and Microsoft office proficiency. Strong work ethic, ability to adapt to new technology quickly, adept at problem solving and demonstrate the ability to work independently and remotely are a must.Schedule Requirements:This is a part-time position.
