Content Editor
A Content Editor at The American College organizes, copy-edits and proofreads each educational publication produced by The College. This role works with faculty and other subject matter experts to manage each text, inputting content, creating informational graphics, designing visually pleasing cover art, formatting publication layouts, updating content in LMS, training faculty or Subject Matter Experts on publishing software and adhering to production schedules. Additionally, this role is expected to keep up with developments in academic publishing and contribute to high-level strategy and implementation decisions.
Reporting directly to the Director, Academic Technology and Support, this position serves as an interface between the faculty/SMEs and the publications they generate. This position also coordinates with the various departments in the college dependent on those publications. Those departments may include IT, Instructional Design, Digital Media and New Product Development.
This role delivers a streamlined, quality educational product across multiple delivery channels in a timely way.
