Located in Stafford Virginia, the Rouse Center (JRSSC) is a state-of-the-art 76,000 square foot facility that houses a 50-meter competition pool with movable bulkhead and seating for over 800 spectators, a 25-yard recreation pool, a warm-water wellness pool, a group exercise studio, fitness floor, a full-size basketball court, and a full-service cafe to serve guests. The Rouse Center offers cycling, a variety of group exercise classes, swimming lessons, and lifeguarding. The center offers league play for adults in volleyball, basketball, Lil' Kickers soccer for children 18 months- 9 years, summer camps, clinics, classes, a J-Club kids' area for all those active kids ages 10 weeks -12 years old. The Jeff Rouse Swim and Sports Center is managed by Eastern Sports Management (ESM) based in Fredericksburg, Virginia. ESM's management portfolio consists of venues in Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee. The Jeff Rouse Swim and Sports Center is currently looking for Junior Fitness Instructors. The Junior Fitness Instructor's role is to lead the Jeff Rouse Swim and Sport Center Junior Fitness program by safely implementing the course guidelines set forth. This part-time position reports directly to the Fitness Director. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Lead instruction for each Junior Fitness class following class topics and course guidelines • By way of the course guidelines, the instructor will teach and ensure each student knows proper fitness etiquette, exercise technique, safety precautions, fitness equipment operation, nutrition and various fitness and wellness topics throughout the course • Setup equipment for class and replace all equipment to its proper location after its completion • Communicate with parents of students when necessary (i.e. - welcome letter, course completion instructions/update, etc.) • Collaborate with the Fitness Director and the students' parents in scheduling make-up dates • Keep organized files on all students in the program • Update Junior Fitness list for the Fitness Assistants, with new student graduates • Continuously reevaluate the program and provide constructive feedback to Fitness Director for consideration to better future Junior Fitness courses • Update fliers, student graduation list, gradebook forms and other paperwork, as needed • Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed, required, or assigned by the Fitness Director and/or the General Manager
