Financial Analyst (Finance)

Role Description:

Arcadis is seeking an experienced Financial Analyst to join our Financial Services Group within the Business Advisory Practice, based out of our New York, NY office.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with Senior and Principal Consultants on a range of financial engagements, including utility rate and fee studies (covering water, wastewater, stormwater, solid waste, and more), State revolving fund loan programs, grants, municipal bond issuance support, project financial feasibility assessments, and the development of long-term capital funding plans.

You will play a key role in supporting these efforts through financial modeling, industry-specific research, and data analysis. Under the guidance of senior team members, you will ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial analyses, funding plans and contribute to the development of client-ready reports and presentations.

Role Accountabilities:

  • Conduct Financial and Economic Analyses: Utilize strong analytical skills to support the development of financial models, utility rate studies, pricing models, and valuation or regionalization/consolidation assignments for municipal and utility clients.
  • Model Development and Application: Learn and apply Arcadis' proprietary financial models, and develop custom models to evaluate project financing scenarios, operating expenses, and revenue planning.
  • Data Analysis and Integrity: Analyze financial data from sources such as budgets, annual financial reports, and bond documents, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of calculations and findings.
  • Reporting and Communication: Prepare clear, concise reports and presentations to communicate financial analysis and recommendations to clients and stakeholders; demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Project and Time Management: Manage multiple assignments concurrently with strong organizational skills, applying logic and computer proficiency to support both internal and external project needs.

Key Skills:

To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously are essential. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external clients. Experience with Microsoft Excel, Access, Visio, and Project is highly valued. This position also requires a willingness to travel up to 25% as needed to support client engagements and project needs.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering or related discipline
  • 5 years of experience as a financial analyst/funding analyst

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Finance/Economics or a related discipline
  • Professional license or certification (e.g., EIT/PE, ASA, CPA, CFA, CGFM, CMA, PMP)
  • Relevant experience in the Water, Energy, Utilities and/or Industrial sectors

We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $72,232 - $134,102. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
