Team Leader - QC - Lab Support (Finance)

Organization Overview:
Lilly is designing and building a new state of the art Parenteral, Device, and Packaging Assembly Facility in Raleigh-Durham North Carolina. This is an exciting opportunity to help build a state-of-the-art facility and Quality System from the ground up. The Quality Control Laboratory assures patients worldwide of safe and efficacious drug and device products, through effective execution of product testing.
The laboratory lab support Team Leader provides direction and/or conducts an area's daily workload planning, compliance, and overall customer service. The Team Leader must be committed to personnel interactions (approachable) and will spend considerable time as a mentor/supporter of reporting staff. The Team Leader also is responsible for coordinating performance planning for all direct reports. This role will be integral in designing and installing lab instruments, sample and process flow, local procedures and systems for the startup of the QC chemistry, biology, and environmental monitoring labs at the site.
Responsibilities:
Proactively manage day-to-day business. This includes interactions with project leaders, integration personnel, and Team Leaders in all areas of the QC lab to plan, develop, and coordinate activities to set up the QC lab.
Once the lab is functional, manage day-to-day business by interacting with quality assurance, regulatory, maintenance, and lab leadership to manage laboratory support workload and schedules.
Maintain a high level understanding of the laboratory processes, and be responsible for associates' training on relevant laboratory methods.
Develop career plans for laboratory associates.
Enforce compliance to all procedures, methods, and other regulatory commitments.
Provide technical understanding of the regulations applicable to laboratory testing and instrument installation/maintenance/qualification for cGMP purposes.
Provide oversight and support for continuous improvement
Implement and comply with corporate, site, and laboratory safety standards
Participate as primary laboratory systems contact for internal and external audits
Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, working safely and accountable for supporting all HSE Corporate and Site Goals.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor (4 year college) degree in Chemistry/Biology /Microbiology
3-5 years of demonstrated experience in a GMP laboratory leadership.

Additional Information:
8 hour days – Monday through Friday
Required to be available off shift and respond to operational issues.
Minimal travel required.
Tasks may require repetitive motion (e.g., keyboarding).
