Johnsonville, LLC Material Handler/Formulation Team Member 1st Shift Watertown, WI Starting Hourly Rate:$25.55 S tarting pay with skill blocks to receive extra pay upon completion Pay Range for Position: $25.55 - $27.39 per hour Hours:5:45am - 2:30pm (end time vill vary depending on production needs) Monday through Friday mainly but some weekends required as production dictates Position Overview: The Formulation Department is the area where the fresh pork is ground, the spices are added, and then blended (formulated) to specifications for sausage making. This position will focus on chopping, chilling, and transporting fat that will be added into product to meet specifications. Responsibilities:
Consistently handle "great tasting" sausage products according to specifications
Utilize your organizational and communication skills through the FIFO process (first in first out).
Prepare equipment for use by utilizing detailed checklists for inspection and assembly
Perform periodic wash-downs of equipment to prepare for different products
Use SAP software functions for the department
Maintain the highest standards of detail as it relates to product specifications and quality
Must be able to obtain forklift license and keep safe driving record
Ability to perform responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner
Comply with USDA regulations, GMP, and safety rules at all times
Ability to communicate effectively with the team and work toward a goal without direct supervision
Set goals and objectives; both personal and as a team member to acquire "superlative" performance in order to support The Johnsonville Way
Work together with other Formulation and Packaging Members to obtain world class results
Learn the Trace Lean operation and complete the necessary Result Blocks for the position
Actively participate in daily meetings and project teams
Willingness to work overtime as production demands
Meet customers' needs and expectations
Complete all other duties as assigned
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Experience:
Experience working in a shipping/warehouse environment
Experienced forklift operation
Demonstrated communication and listening skills and ability
Prior food manufacturing experience preferred
Skills and Competencies:
Ability to take ownership of own and other Members' safety
Demonstrated ability to problem solve effectively and efficiently
Ability to lead by example and also involve others in the decision-making process (team player)
Ability to manage multiple tasks and be flexible by adjusting priorities
Ability to work in a face paced environment to match the process flow
Strong interpersonal skills
Basic computer skills required
Physical Demands:
Ability to hand grip up to 50 lbs, and push/pull up to 40 lbs on a regular basis
Walking and/or Standing throughout the shift
Bending and/or Reaching throughout the shift
Ability to work safely from elevated platforms and lifts
Ability to work in a cold environment
Willingness to work in cold conditions
