We are searching for an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team.
JOB PURPOSE: Maintain and repair heavy equipment for our fleet department nationwide.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Repair and maintain heavy equipment including trucks, large foundation drilling rigs and other support equipment
• Assure that heavy equipment is in working order
• Respond to and communicate internal customer requests for service
• Report to work ready to perform assigned tasks by using established safe work practices and by wearing any prescribed personal protective equipment
• Use the proper tools and equipment for each task and use them correctly. If knowledge or proficiency with the operation or equipment is questionable, ask before it is used
• Attend all weekly safety toolbox meetings. Be a participant and engage in discussion generated at such meetings. We hold these for everyone's benefit and your input is valuable
• Report all unsafe behaviors and/or conditions, near misses, incidents and injuries to your supervisor immediately. Take immediate action as appropriate if you observe something that could cause injury to a fellow worker
• Accurately report all work activities daily using the reporting means and methods provided by the company
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
• 5+ years of experience
• CDL license Class "A"
• Willing to travel
• A willingness to work under field conditions and travel with projects
• Skilled diagnostician, skilled on the electrical side of the equipment and equally strong on hydraulics
• Good natural engineering and problem solving senses
• Good welding and fabricating skills
• Conceptual abilities
• Common sense and good decision making in making the plans to resolve a field failure
• Basic computer skills
• Formal Tech School training a plus but applicants with demonstrated experience will be considered
