Purchase materials, supplies, and resources that align with operational requirements Ensure material availability to meet production schedules and optimize on-time delivery, lead time to customer, and net working capital Proactively communicate any supply problems which may pose a risk or impact to operations Collaborate regularly with internal and external stakeholders, and assist in the resolution of purchasing issues Monitor market trends, competitor strategies, and market suppliers Explore alternate sources for goods and materials, and provide recommendations to leadership Research and evaluate areas of opportunity and reduce costs when possible Develop and maintain effective relationships with suppliers Conduct supplier visits to evaluate capabilities and quality processes to build strong partnerships Assess and evaluate suppliers to ensure contract compliance and manage performance improvement activities Support new product development, samples, and prototypes. Manage the product lifecycle through adjustments to inventory buying practices and ongoing communication with other stakeholders Review open purchase order reports and monitor supplier on-time delivery and quality performance, taking appropriate action to ensure requirements are met Support supplier negotiations to achieve cost savings targets utilizing best practice methods and tools Ensure that a professional, consistent approach is taken in relation to all supplier relationships Ensure compliance to company guidelines, purchasing policies, and procedures Contribute strategies to improve operational efficiency; develop creative and innovative procurement processes Consistently demonstrate the 5 Traits of Success: Teamwork, Integrity, Hard Work, Confidence, and Passion Occasional travel up to 5% may be required for supplier visits, trade shows, professional development, etc. Perform other duties as may be assigned at managements discretion
