Quality Control Technician (Biotech)



Position Summary:

  • Tests and inspects products at various stages of the production process and complies with and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain the quality and reliability of products.
  • This position uses gauges and other devices to verify conformity to the standards of products. Suggests and recommends changes regarding special requirements.
  • Assists in implementing the quality management program and assists in training others on quality management.
  • Investigates abnormalities with products and processes internally and investigate replacements with customers externally.
  • Pay range: $21 - $23 depending on experience. 

Responsibilities:

  • Investigates external and internal non-conforming products via employee requests or external customer complaints.
  • Issues credit and replacement authorizations for defective products utilizing established protocol.
  •  Identifies and isolates non-conforming products
  • Completes routine reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Reports include best practice reports, daily production output, production yields, internal scrap, etc.
  • Maintains and disseminates quality information via daily, weekly, or monthly reports.
  •  Trains new hires on established quality protocols for various departments.
  • Maintains and updates training curriculum for new or existing employees.
  • Maintains the calibration of quality tools or devices and keeps records current.
  • Special projects as determined by management, including travel to customer's facility to troubleshoot issues.
  • Regular and predictable attendance safely performs tasks, and adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of your job.

Skills, Knowledge, and Ability Requirements:

  • To be considered for a Quality Technician position, the following conditions must be met:
  • Read and perform mathematical calculations and measurements with numbers, fractions, and decimals normally acquired through high school education or equivalency.
  • Minimum of two years of production and inspection experience with glass or related products.
  • Organized, self-starter with the ability to handle numerous projects, and phones, prioritize workload & work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively & conduct themselves professionally.
  • Have excellent written & verbal communication skills.
  • Intermediate skills in MS Office, including Excel, Word & Access.
  • Prior experience using windows based software.
