Senior Security Operations Specialist (Security)

Edward Jones currently has more branch offices than any other financial services firm, and we continue to grow to meet the needs of long-term individual investors. Key Responsibilities:
A position as Senior Specialist, Security Operations at the St. Louis Home Office is open on the midnight team (8pm - 6am) Wednesday through Saturday, with Sunday, Monday and Tuesday as leave days.
 
· Senior member of the HQ Operations team on a specific shift; assigns tasks, acts as a mentor and provides coaching and feedback, as appropriate, to the Team Leader

· Assists the Team Leader in providing oversight of the contract security program; collaborates with the contract program leader, monitors performance, ensures standards of work are met and provides feedback for improvement

· Receives and responds to routine, urgent and emergent calls for service from the Security Control Center, remains highly visible in the assigned work area, responds within established quality standards, completes patrols and assignments in a timely manner and coordinates a rapid response from HQ Operations team members

· Stands posts, screens access, provides escorts and conducts security foot and/or vehicle preventative patrols

· Responds to and maintains current and accurate knowledge of emergency procedures; fire and security alarms, severe weather and earthquake. Reacts to medical emergencies, provides emergency first aid and assists EMS

· Communicates with the SCC and other members of the HQ Operations team using hand held VOIP radios

· Prepares dashboards and reports for trending and analysis of data to keep the organization informed, improve performance and ensure efficient use of resources

· Assists in development and implementation of security initiatives, processes and programs

· Attends training; maintains job-specific certifications, actively participates in field or classroom training exercises and meets or exceeds minimum training standards

· Accountable for submitting accurate documentation; uses correct forms, writes legibly, uses proper spelling and grammar and submits timely, accurate, understandable, and error-free information

· Authorized to carry a handgun to safeguard persons on Edward Jones premises
 



 

Education/Experience:

 High School diploma or GED required. College degree in related field preferred

 5-years of relative experience with increasing levels of responsibility (police, military, fire service or emergency medical services). Experience as a lead in patrol operations is preferred; assigning tasks, mentoring team members and coaching

 5 years experience carrying a firearm as part of daily duties as a law enforcement officer, military police, armed corporate/private security. 

Functional/Technical Skills

 Knowledge of security patrol operations, security systems and the Security field is required

 Effective written and verbal communications and operation of computer software such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

 Must have significant knowledge acquired through previous experience, certification or specialized training in patrol operations

 Ability to solve problems using established policies and procedures

 Decision making skills

 Must be willing to obtain security licensing
