Title: Master Data and Migration Specialist
Department: Data Administration
General Summary:
This position is responsible for performing technical and specialized work in the creation, maintenance, enrichment, and analysis of master data and other related data in various systems, which include, but are not limited to, the MDM, ERP, CRM. Additionally, this position will be required to document and communicate process and data standard changes in order to coordinate the downstream effects with other groups.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Identifies, obtains, manipulates, implements data, data mappings, data attributes, and data relationships in Master Data Management (MDM) and ERP, CRM, etc.
2.Performs all aspects of Vendor Line Ownership: vendor setup, vendor price updates, vendor data updates to MDM, ERP & eCommerce systems, and related service desk requests.
3.Responsible for data governance and ensures data integrity by coordinating data management efforts across the organization.
4.Works with other departments, such as Marketing, to establish processes, resolve issues, etc. for master data content.
5.Actively participates, potentially helps lead conversions and integrations of data and systems related to merger & acquisition activities. This can include, but is not limited to, vendor data, item data, attributed data, various digital assets.
6.Performs advanced functional actions within MDM such as creating/modifying processes to transform and integrate data from various industry related data sources (Third Party, ERP, vendor specific, etc.).
7.Identifies areas for data quality improvements and helps to resolve data quality problems through the appropriate choice of error detection and correction, process control and improvement, or process design strategies.
8.Ensures quality of master data in key systems, as well as development and documentation of processes with other functional data owners to support ongoing maintenance and data integrity.
9.In collaboration with others, defines and implements data strategy, policies, controls, and programs to ensure the enterprise data is accurate, complete, secure, and reliable.
10.Analyzes and resolves data initiative issues and manages revisions needed to best meet requirements while adhering to published data standards.
11.Reviews new supplier requests against existing supplier master and preferred supplier list to determine need.
12.Contributes to the organization's master data management strategic roadmap scoping, prioritization, planning, and execution.
13.Provides training and support on master data process to other team members and stakeholders.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
1.Bachelor's degree required in related field plus 5 years of professional experience. 5+ years of professional experience in data analytics considered in lieu of meeting the educational requirement.
2.Experience working with large data sets, structured and unstructured, and relational database management systems (RDBMS) like Microsoft SQL Server including table design (i.e. primary key, indexes) and advanced query design (i.e. outer joins, subqueries) using ANSI SQL or T-SQL (structured query language).
3.Experience in Master Data Management systems (MDM) or Product Information Manager (PIM) required; experience with ERP software a plus.
4.Understands the role Master Data (i.e. item, customer, vendor) has as it relates to sales, operations, reporting, governance and associated processes.
5.Experience with XML (extensible markup language) and FTP (file transfer) preferred.
6.Advanced knowledge and ability in using Microsoft Access and Excel (Formulas such as VLookup, Pivot Tables, other data related skills).
7.Ability to quickly comprehend new processes/projects, work independently, and self-initiate projects/tasks. Proven multi-tasking, analytical, and organizational skills.
