Associate Development Program - Private Bank Wealth Advisory (Finance)

ADP Overview

Established in 2012 with locations in Boston, MA and Palo Alto, CA, the Associate Development Program hires entry-level associates in January and July to embark on a 15-22-month development program that couples heavy technical training with real life experience supporting various teams, markets, and geographies.

Training

The foundation of the Associate Development Program is our hands-on training curriculum. It's a building-block approach to develop the skills you'll need to support our dynamic and rapidly growing clients. The training consists of a combination of classroom-style instruction intermixed wit case-study based exercises and live work with our various in-house facilitators. The first 4 - 5 months you'll learn foundational skills that focus on understanding the unique business models of our clients. With these skills in place you'll develop and deliver solutions uniquely tailored to both rapidly growing startups and public companies.

This Associate role is tailored specifically for establishing a career within Private Bank Wealth Advisory and will be based In Palo Alto, CA, and as such gets exposure to a variety of activities within this organization . Associates support loan growth, risk management, and client satisfaction in partnership with senior bankers and other groups within Silicon Valley Bank. The Associate will join the program July 2021.

Associates assist in monitoring an assigned portfolio of credits. They independently process loan advances, monitor and analyze borrowers' financial performance and loan covenant compliance. Associates work with Relationship Managers, as well as contacting clients directly to resolve compliance related questions and inquiries. Associates handle a variety of routine credit documentation requirements in addition to reviewing noncompliance and past due status for assigned accounts. They will also review financial information, collateral and other assets to assess portfolio risk and profitability. Associates review portfolio management reports and engage in regular portfolio review meetings with the credit officer. Additionally, Associates assure credit files comply with SVB policies and procedures. After attaining proficiency in the duties attributed to loan monitoring activities, the Associate will further grow their skills by supporting the sales process by preparing credit recommendation requests. Associates assist in the underwriting of credits, analyzing financial statements and preparing the due diligence approval package for renewals and modifications. There may also be an opportunity to prepare the underwriting documents for credit, facilitate the booking process, in an effort to grow sales and risk management skills.

We also look for candidates who have a strong base of technical ability coupled with the soft skills needed in order to collaborate and work with various teams both during and after ADP.
