Business Analyst II, Data Analytics & Reporting (Information Technology)

Role 

As a Business Analyst within the National Program Management Group, you will focus on reporting and analyzing strategic program initiatives focused on risk mitigation and program health. Your experience with tools and processes in support of program/project management, data querying, data analytics, and Power BI will allow you to make valuable contributions. You will be responsible for providing accurate, complete, timely, and insightful reports and analyses used for business management, project tracking, and decision-making. You will work closely with leadership, program management teams, and functional groups to determine reporting and analytics needs, build and update reports, and use tools and reports to evaluate risks to achieving company and program goals.

You will be an excellent collaborator, self-starter, curious, and develop relationships across Crown to understand best practices and process flows from other teams. Where appropriate, you should leverage these skills to identify gaps and propose creative solutions. 

Responsibilities  

  • Successful project management of key workstreams within ongoing programs.
  • Influence the stand up of a Power BI platform for the National Program Management group.
  • Foster a culture of data-driven program management, product excellence, and exceptional execution.
  • Utilize milestone lock reporting to control performance on both active deployments and upcoming monthly customer commitments.
  • Proactively review and identify financial and schedule risks. Strategize corrective control tactics on identified risks with Program Manager. Execute corrective control tactics on identified risks.
  • Collaborate with centralized corporate teams on report optimization, standardization, and centralization.
  • Monitor SLA and contract compliance across Project Managers and all lines of business, including, but not limited to, sales, site acquisition, A&E, real estate, and licensing.
  • Support the reconciliation efforts on customer-managed systems vs. Crown systems.
  • Ensure Project and Program Managers are aware of gating items and issues that will impact timely project completion or cost.
  • Participate in internal & external meetings and interact with carrier representatives as needed.
  • Monitor financial processes and procedures to ensure SOX compliance.
  • Create ad hoc reports and perform ad hoc analyses as requested.
  • Conducts project financial reviews and analyses. Provide input on how to improve the department's financials results.
  • Review information on other, functionally-owned reports and provide management with clear and concise explanations of relevant trends and exceptions. Works with Project Managers to correct issues when identified. 

Education/Certifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting/Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Management Science, Data Science, or related quantitative discipline preferred 
  • MBA or other quantitative Masters degree a plus but not required

Experience/Minimum Requirements 

  • Two (2) to five (5) or more years in a quantitative analytical role (e.g. PMO, finance, strategy, operations, analytics, data science) building models to surface actionable business insights.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, organize, and work effectively on multiple complex projects/programs in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Experience in requirements gathering, scope drafting, resource organization, task prioritization, scheduling, and achieving objectives on schedule and within budget.
  • Extensive knowledge of MS Excel (e.g. advanced formulas, queries, visuals).
  • Experience building tools and dashboards in PowerBI.
  • Experience with forecasting methods and data analysis.
  • Strong attention to details.

Expectations

  • Ability to perform data crunching and detailed analytics within existing Crown systems, processes, and financial models.
  • Strong data acumen in order to manipulate existing and new datasets in Excel, AppStudio, and PowerBI to be able to help customer program teams translate data into actions and analytics.
  • Ability to problem solve to determine root causes of anomalies.
  • Problem-solving skills with a willingness to work with business and technical partners to identify solutions.
  • Experience with Data Visualization Tools (Tableau/Power BI/etc.)
  • Ability to collect and analyze complex data sets (Experience with SQL/other basic coding).
  • Personally embodies best practices and customer service principals in ways that improve collaboration, understanding, and execution in others around them.
  • Comfortable with changing specifications or standards. Able to create conditions in which the team is capable of working through ambiguity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Working Conditions: This role falls into our hybrid work model working in the office on Monday through Thursday.  On Fridays, teammates on the hybrid schedule will have the option to work from the office or home.  There is an expectation of collaboration with teammates and stakeholders for moments that matter that could require travel.
