Principal Scientist I (Finance)
Support regulatory product submissions and harm reduction platforms for a Fortune 200 Company with iconic brands, by leading research to understand consumer perceptions, intentions and behaviors! Have a B.A. degree in Psychology, Marketing Research, Quantitative Methods, Decision Science, or related fields, along with eight plus years in consumer or human research? We are currently looking for a Principal Scientist I in our Population Science department in Richmond, VA or we are open to remote work arrangements.
Situated within Regulatory Affairs, the Population Science department's role is to evaluate the impact of tobacco product use in the population to advance regulatory and harm reduction efforts.
In this role, you will:
• Lead the design of and execution of behavioral research studies, including developing protocols, surveys, statistical analysis plans, and reports
• Develop methodologies and conduct statistical analyses to assess consumer perceptions, intentions and behaviors
• Interpret findings from research, provide direction on integrating findings into regulatory applications, determine impactful insights for the business, and present findings to key partners
• Develop scientific narrative content for FDA applications, submissions, and advocacy
• Manage multiple priorities and projects in a rapidly changing environment
• Engage in scientific conferences and through peer-reviewed publications
We want you to have:
• B.A. degree in Psychology, Marketing Research, Decision Science, Quantitative Methods, or related fields. Advanced degree preferred
• 8+ years of meaningful educational and/or work experience (Consumer research, background in consumer package goods, FDA regulatory environment and/or public health a plus)
• Strong capabilities in methodological designs and survey development
• Statistical and analytical expertise (e.g., SAS, SPSS, Stata, R)
• Ability to synthesize complex scientific information in a concise manner
• Ability to lead vendors in quality execution of research
• Ability to multi-task and balance priorities in a deadline-oriented environment and work in a collaborative manner
• Strong oral communications skills and the ability to present information effectively to others
• In depth knowledge of consumer research, methodology strengths and limitations, and ability to strategically address business questions
