Senior Equipment Engineer (Finance)

A Sr. Engineer will be responsible for integration, implementation, service and setting up maintenance and training of manufacturing equipment. This will include automation, instrumentation, calibration documentation for maintenance activities for a tool set in a manufacturing environment. This includes being directly involved with installation, configuration and repair of equipment, integrating equipment with information systems and validation and verification of the equipment in accordance with cGMP and/or GLP guidelines. Responsible for preparing maintenance and operation protocols, approving calibration documents, setting up calibration parameter, review and following the manufacturers and the Equipment Quality system documents. Our Equipment Engineer will trouble-shoot problems with equipment and conduct or coordinate required repairs and complex maintenance tasks. The Equipment Engineer will provide input regarding the selection of new equipment and support of new processes as it pertains to the site infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
Learn and understand new tool sets, create a maintenance program, provide continuous improvements, improve reliability and high utilization rates.
Work with engineers to develop and implement procedures to reduce or eliminate sources of systematic equipment failures
Install new equipment and/or assist in the construction of new instruments and/or lab areas
Work with vendors to improve support for manufacturing equipment
Data-mining large datasets to uncover sources of errors
Understand internal instrument communication (RS232, SECS/GEM, PLC, IO)
Create innovative solutions to technical problems
Perform equipment repairs and train technicians to perform repairs and determine root cause of failures
Work with robotics and understand and troubleshoot controls and vision systems
Requirements:
Advanced electronics troubleshooting including reading of schematics/plumbing diagrams/blue prints, etc.
Ability to learn and understand equipment failures and address root causes (prevention is key)
Computer knowledge and skills a must. (preferred experience with Microsoft Windows and MS Office)
Ability to communicate and document equipment issues referencing data and available charts
Demonstrated continuous improved performance of equipment and ability to communicate improvements to process and R&D engineers
Demonstrated experience with hands on design and equipment/systems troubleshooting
Experience with Semiconductor equipment and fab best practices (preferred)
Experience with PLC or some program language (preferred)
Travel up to 10%
Education and Experience:
5 to 7 years of relevant experience supporting a GxP laboratory setting (preferred)
BS degree in engineering study with some experience or equivalent AS with 7-8 years+ experience
