*Research Technician (Project Management)



Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics is an internationally recognized leader in the field of child maltreatment, prevention, and problematic sexual behaviors of youth. This position will involve research of OU's National Center on the Sexual Behavior of Youth (ncsby.org). Responsibilities for this position include managing data coding, collaborating with the research team, assisting with manuscripts, opportunities for professional development, and provision of evidence-based practices of services for youth. This position is excellent for recent BA or MA graduates or persons applying to graduate school. The research technician provides assistance to research staff by collecting data, keeping records, conducting literature reviews and technical research, analyzing data, preparing reports, etc.

Duties:

  • Collects various forms of data pertaining to the research project or projects
  • Reviews archived data, codes data, saves data, works with project coordinator to track cases and data
  • May involve data collection occurs virtually and in person, including in the home and community.
  • Keeps record of information obtained during research
  • May include a database of information, hard files, etc.
  • Conducts research of the literature
  • Conducts technical research or assists in social science research
  • Conducts analyses of research data
  • Prepares reports concerning the progress of the project, etc. 
  • Provides administrative assistance by answering phones, running miscellaneous errands, etc. 
  • Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position

Required education: Bachelor's Degree in a Biological Science, Chemistry, Physics, Psychology, Sociology, or other health related field.

Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months equivalent experience in lieu of the Bachelor's Degree.

 

Skills:

  • Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and regulations.
  • Proficient with computers including data software and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, and Word)
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
  • Ability to be detail oriented
  • Ability to collect and analyze data
Working Conditions:

    • Standing for prolonged periods.

    • Laboratory Environment.
    • Exposure to chemicals, biohazardous materials, carcinogens, or other hazardous materials.
