This position is a development management position. The person in this position manages developers/lead developers as well as technical staff. This person is to provide technical oversight to multiple development teams. The Director of Development oversees relationships with vendors for outsourced development as well as vendors that provide assistive and third party services. The Director of Development collaborates with all managers and technical leaders to ensure all are following HealthStream's standards and best practices as well as approve technology selection and guide strategic direction. The Director of Development will work with product leadership to develop strategies for product and platform solutions. The Director of Development will recommend and review promotions and salary adjustments within the development department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the development and delivery of HealthStream's Scheduling solutions
Lead the development of the Scheduling integrated plans and facilitate delivery
Work with the VP, Technology, leadership peers and business stakeholders to ensure that HealthStream SCM capabilities are considered, prioritized and delivered to meet HeathStream's broader strategic direction as well as incorporate PaaS integration opportunities when applicable
Build a sense of team spirit and cooperation between team members
Guide and mentor the technical teams and processes of the Scheduling group
Help facilitate the day to day development and delivery of Scheduling/SCM solutions
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, related field required or equivalent experience
At least 5-10 years' experience leading the development and delivery of cloud-based, mobile, and web applications
Experienced in leading high functioning teams with particular focus in direct to consumer application delivery
Experience managing and delivering on business requirements, roadmaps and departmental goals
Deep experience interacting, optimizing, creating and working with APIs
Experience and understanding of testing and quality assurance
Experience leveraging cloud based solutions and tools, and managing the teams working within the various environments
Experience effectively integrating disparate systems both internally and externally
Experience with agile development methodologies such as SCRUM and Kanban is a plus
Experience managing outsourced work and teams
Experience with .net and SQL
Cloud based infrastructure experience - AWS and/or Azure
Data center experience
