Brief Overview

The Sr. Director - Operations Supply Chain & Industrialization Strategy Program Manager plays a critical leadership role in ensuring the successful launch of new products by developing and executing cross-functional supply chain and industrialization strategies. This position leads the alignment of operational footprint, make/buy decisions, and sourcing strategies across Engineering, Sourcing, Operations, and Quality teams to support NPD/NPI initiatives. Operating at a strategic level, the role is responsible for driving scalable processes, managing complex program workflows, and ensuring timely, cost-effective, and sustainable supply chain solutions aligned with corporate goals. Reporting in a matrix structure to both Operations Supply Chain and Innovation leadership, this role is instrumental in translating business case inputs into executable operational strategies.

Key Accountabilities

  • Acts as the operations and supply chain lead for NPD programs, aligning cross-functional stakeholders to ensure timely and successful execution.
  • Partners with Engineering, Product Management, Quality, and Operations to align product and market requirements with supply chain and manufacturing strategies.
  • Collaborates with Procurement, Category Management, and Supplier Quality to ensure seamless supplier selection, qualification, contracting, and quality standards for new programs.
  • Drives make/buy and production footprint decisions based on business case inputs, in coordination with product, engineering, and supply chain leadership.
  • Ensures comprehensive analysis of total cost of ownership, sustainability, and long-term viability in global make/buy decisions.
  • Aligns supply chain plans with global and regional category strategies; manages execution through a cross-functional supply team.
  • Develops and maintains supply chain timelines to ensure sourcing, purchasing, and delivery milestones meet program objectives.
  • Identifies and mitigates supply chain risks through proactive analysis and development of contingency strategies with business partners.
  • Links supply strategy to project budgets and profitability goals, guiding sourcing, stocking, and purchasing decisions accordingly.
  • Communicates program status clearly to stakeholders; escalates critical issues promptly with actionable solutions.
  • Exhibits strong program management discipline and leadership to drive complex initiatives to completion.

Job Requirements
  • BS in Operations/Supply Chain Management, Business, or Industrial Engineering. MBA and / or PMP certification are a plus
  • Minimum 15 years of proven, progressive operations and supply chain experience in an industrial, mixed-mode, manufacturing environment.

⦁ Must demonstrate the ability to lead through influence.

⦁ Experience with large scale project management across multiple functional teams, operations life cycle, in depth analysis and problem solving.

⦁ Proficient with project management tools and methods to manage activities across supply chain and other functions.

⦁ Preferred candidate will be a change agent and promote continued development of the evolving supply chain function

⦁ Working knowledge of manufacturing processes like machining, metal cutting, hydraulics, plastic injection molding, metal fabrication, electronics and assembly. Experience with low volume, high mix manufacturing processes is a plus.

⦁ Proven ability to identify problems quickly, make sound judgments, establish and implement solutions

⦁ Ability to read technical drawings/blueprints, purchasing specifications, bill of materials is a plus

⦁ Demonstrates ability to work against deadlines to support company goals

⦁ Experience in Supply Chain and Business Application Systems (Oracle ERP systems is a plus)

⦁ Effective time management, planning and organization skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and drive tasks to completion in a fixed time-frame and in a pressured environment

⦁ Ability to deal with ambiguities, conflicts, and adversarial relationships

  • Familiar with a variety of manufacturing concepts, practices, procedures.
  • Ability to lead and direct the work of others.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Project, Office, SharePoint, Oracle or other ERP system
  • Analytical skills to convert general data into actionable and insightful information to influence business planning and success.
  • Effective skill set in managing systems and processes to measure, monitor, manage and impact performance. Improves processes and builds scalability.
  • Knowledge of lean tools and mindset to drive for continuous improvement
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Up to 25% Domestic and International travel is required for this position.
