Product Development Engineer - UNITE Foot & Ankle (Healthcare)



Job Summary

Responsible for leading new product development projects from concept to market and making changes to currently marketed products by working with sales, marketing, identified surgeons, consultants and cross-functional team to define the scope of the project, create a schedule for the project, and execute key deliverables. Ensure project results meet quality, reliability, schedule and cost requirements.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Define project scope by studying project requirements, standards and collaborating with cross-functional team.
  • Manage multiple projects from the conceptual stage through launch. Identify project timelines and milestones, track progress, and ensures deadlines and budgets are met.
  • Supports legacy systems and sustaining initiatives related to legacy system upgrades, maintenance, and improvements.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation including inputs, outputs, verification, validation, risk assessment and design reviews.
  • Provide expertise and knowledge to address clinical needs focused on generating innovative solutions to business problems.
  • Establish and maintain constructive working relationships and keep stakeholders informed of progress or status.
  • Effectively communicates with senior management to remove barriers /obstacles that could impair the projects timeline and/or overall success. Escalates to the appropriate leader to keep the project on track, on time and within budget.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree (mechanical or biomechanical engineering highly preferred)

Work Experience

  • 1-3 years engineering experience with at least 1-year in medical

Preferred Qualifications

Relevant Work Experience

  • Experience in the development and launch of new medical/pharma products.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Knowledge of FDA QSR's and ISO 13485 design controls, and MDD/MDR (CE Mark) requirements
  • Experience with complex mechanical assembly design
  • Intermediate to advanced level skill with SolidWorks modeling software
  • Recognized on at least one patent filing

The anticipated salary range for this position:

$79,560.00 - $115,440.00 Annual

The actual salary will vary based on applicant's location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
