Production Crew Lead (Project Management)

SUMMARY:
Reporting directly to the Production Supervisor and is overseen by the Production Floor Lead. A crew Lead is responsible for specifically directing, coordinating, and executing the activities of production line or area. The individual in this role must be comfortable working in a fast-paced work environment that is focused on ensuring that the production schedule is executed in a timely manner and within all quality parameters, and to provide guidance, instruction, direction, and leadership to the production group.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Produce and pack products as instructed on the daily schedule.
Enforce all safety and processing procedures.
Ensure the safety and productivity of all employees assigned to designated shift.
Monitor and control pedestrian and forklift movement through processing area to ensure compliance with food security and food safety during designated shift hours.
Enable effective communications between management, operators, and general labor.
Train new employees and coach existing employees.
Maintain a clean and safe workplace.
Aid in the investigation of all incidents (accidents, poor performance, employee complaints)
Suggest cost-saving ideas.
Perform related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.
Any other duties assigned

QUALIFICATION PREFERED:
High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
2-3 years of experience in leadership position.
Must be bilingual – English/Spanish.
Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, SOP, and other Company documents
Solid understanding of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
Proactively assist team members, manager and employees as needed.
Ability to motivate others to meet demands established by the schedule.
Basic understanding of computers.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Basic math skills.
Maintain composure under difficult circumstances and effectively deal with employees.
Available to work a flexible schedule including, nights, weekends, and overtime as required.
Communicate special instructions or possible issues to appropriate personnel.
Teambuilding and ensuring teamwork.
PHYSICAL DEMAND:
Job requires working in cold environment (32 degrees).
Willing and able to work long hours and be available nights and/or weekends as required by the business needs.
Standing/walking, crouching, stooping, twisting, balancing, leg/foot use, reaching, overhead extension, handling, pushing/pulling.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:
Be always visually alert and aware of surroundings especially when transferring product between lines and rooms.
Requires occasional climbing of machines, assisting with machine set-up or closure.
Requires supplying with packaging material/supplies manually or with the use of a forklift.
