Position Title: Structural Engineering Manager
Position Summary
Lead technical teams and projects to ensure the successful practice of structural engineering at Crown Castle. Collaborate with peers to achieve effective solutions and optimum business results. Foster a leadership focused environment that encourages performance, growth, and satisfaction for employees.
Essential Job Functions
Lead technical teams and projects including hiring, coaching, goal determination and setting, performance reviews, termination, rewards determination, and training/development.
Ensure customer satisfaction through timely, high quality service.
Identify key opportunities for process improvement, consistency and/or cost reduction concentrating on the Engineering, Asset Management, and Tower Operations processes.
Develop and propose project plans and budgets for approval.
Develop standards, scopes of work, and technical directives.
Lead data analysis and data quality efforts with corporate and regional personnel.
Collaborate with other managers in developing of Crown policy, procedures, standards, and directing execution of business plans.
Lead development of user requirements for tools and automation related to Engineering functions.
Lead support efforts to test new tools and train users to ensure timely and effective implementation.
Direct project execution to completion; ensure that process improvement/cost reduction objectives are met on time and within budget.
Manage direct reports, subcontractors and other resources as needed for the project execution.
Track and report progress and variances. Develop methods and procedures to capture and track critical engineering issues on an ongoing basis.
Interface with outsource vendors of engineering and specialty construction services.
Train and develop field personnel. Provide technical support to Assets and Field personnel.
Education/Certifications
Bachelor's Degree Civil Engineering or equivalent
Registered Professional Engineer preferred
Experience/Minimum Requirements
Five (5) years of wireless or related work experience

Proven ability to analyze data and make estimates and projections
Proven understanding of structural engineering and tower operations practices and engineering approach to problem solving
Proven ability to write/prepare technical documentation and related communications appropriate for all levels of the organization
Able to provide effective feedback to peers and subordinates.
Seeks constructive feedback from all appropriate levels of organization and able to foster subsequent improvement
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Working Knowledge of drafting practices and CAD (AutoCad, current version)
Ability to design processes through structured consensus building, mapping and modeling
Knowledge of ANSI/TIA/EIA 222
Knowledge of structural design, construction and related standards
Knowledge of National Fire Protection Association Codes (NFPA), including:
a. Code 54 National Fuel and Gas Code
b. Code 58 LP Gas Code
c. Code 70 National Electrical Code
Organizational Relationship
Reports to: Director Engineering
Title(s) of direct reports (if applicable): Engineering Supervisors, Design Engineers, Project Engineers, Senior Project Engineers
Working Conditions: Works in a normal office setting with no exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
