ERU Specialist (Finance)
PPG's Circleville, Ohio plant is the company's center for resin production. Our sophisticated polymer resins are used in PPG paint-making plants from North America to China and are compounded into an assortment of finishes serving different markets, but primarily the automotive market. The Energy Recovery Unit (ERU) is located adjacent to PPG's resin manufacturing plant in Circleville, OH. The ERU uses rotary kiln incineration technology to reduce PPG North America coatings & resins waste while generating steam energy for the resin manufacturing plant.
Key Responsibilities
The PPG ERU in Circleville, Ohio is seeking to fill an ERU Specialist opening. This position is qualified to perform all operations and maintenance of the ERU. The incumbent scans and oversees the entire operation through the control system consoles, process cameras, and visual observations and will follow the process schedules to initiate the charging of waste feeds to the kiln. Incumbent is also responsible for the operation of the equipment in the utility center and in the incineration train downstream of the kiln elevator. The incumbent will pull samples of the boiler feed water and containment water, perform various tests, and make the adjustments to the treatment system. The incumbent is responsible for the hose setups for blending wastes in the tank storage cells, charging the incineration feeds to the kiln and loading/managing the conveyors. The Operator will setup tank cleaning and be responsible for pipping the lines to the kiln. The Specialist maintains machines, equipment, the physical plant and its components and troubleshoots various mechanical and electrical failures, attempting to provide repairs or correction action. The Specialist assists with the preventive maintenance program to ensure longer life and continued operation of equipment and department facilities. This position works a 24/7/365 rotating schedule including some weekends. Starting Monday employee works 5 afternoon shifts 2:30p-10:45p; Off 4 days; Work 7 midnight shifts 10:30p-6:45a; Off 2 days; Work 7 day shifts 6:30a-2:45p; Off 3 days; Rotation Repeats.
Experience and Education
Candidates must be a qualified journeyman in an industrial craft or at least four years general industrial mechanical experience. P reference will be provided to those candidates with boiler/incinerator experience.
Functional and Technical Skills
The candidate must have the capability to be thoroughly familiar with the entire incineration process to be able to respond & maintain system to operating parameters. The Specialist must have fundamental observation, computer & communication abilities and be able to work without immediate supervision. Candidate must be able to read blueprints, equipment service manuals and repair procedures and be able to apply general knowledge of shop mathematics and mechanics. New hire must be able to obtain a high pressure boiler operator's license from the State of Ohio within one year.
