The Prudential Communications team directs communications efforts to ensure the company's messages are aligned and delivered in accordance with Prudential's goals and policies. The organization is evolving as a dynamic ecosystem of subject matter and skill set experts who interact with leaders and colleagues at all levels across Prudential. We are expanding our ecosystem and operations capabilities and looking for professionals to better align how we approach the work of communications, ensure we are excelling at financial management and governance, as well as driving operational efficiencies and continuous improvement to provide consistently excellent service to our colleagues and partners.
Director, Data Analytics
Reporting to the Vice President, Data Analytics for Prudential Communications, this role will be responsible for managing day-to-day execution of the intelligence function refresh. They will support efforts to align communications measurement programs with strategic enterprise priorities through stakeholder and initiative management; training and development; and ad hoc project leadership and quality control. They will also act as a thought partner, supporting the Vice President, Data Analytics in regularly calibrating intelligence capabilities and relationships to enterprise and business needs.
Responsibilities:
Spearhead operational execution of intelligence refresh by overseeing system to ensure connectivity between measurement program and business needs, and proactively identifying gaps and other opportunities to optimize the program as business needs evolve.
With guidance from the Vice President, Data Analytics, act as liaison between Prudential Communications Intelligence and other data and analytics leaders within the company – advocating for and helping to create always-on pathways to share information and methods, where available, as well as reporting frameworks and outputs.
Provide ongoing strategic and technical coaching to intelligence team resources and partners – ensuring quality-control, alignment with up-to-date function templates and protocols, and adherence to data analytics and other relevant research best practices.
Help manage vendor and external partner relationships by staying abreast of – and proactively flagging – evolving capabilities and use cases.
As needed, manage complex intelligence projects and initiatives.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of professional experience in a complex data-driven environment, including 3+ years in a supervisory role. This leader will have experience collaborating with communications and business leaders to leverage various forms of data (e.g., analytics, market research, and/or secondary study results) in service of strategic goals.
Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
Experience managing, coaching, and developing research and/or communications talent.
Career trajectory that demonstrates increasingly complex project and team management and corresponding escalating responsibilities.
Deep technical knowledge of at least 2 of the following: primary audience and/or market research (qual, quant); financial research; digital/SEO research; data analytics.
Familiarity with communications as a discipline (internal and external).
Exposure to analytics, alerting, and research databases, such as Factiva, Bloomberg, Cision, Meltwater, Zignal, Signal AI, Quid preferred.
Relevant business knowledge, with a preference for financial services experience a plus.
Familiarity with advanced Boolean search logic a plus.
Hybrid role requiring ~8 days monthly travel to Newark, NJ. This travel is considered commuting and therefore is non-reimbursable. Prudential also reserves the right to adapt these expectations based on business needs and the changing requirements of the role.
Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $156,100.00 to $211,100.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
