Human Services Practitioner (Finance)



The Human Services Practitioner in SAS meets with students and coordinates academic accommodations. This position serves students with multiple types of disabilities including learning disabilities, Attention Deficit (ADD/ADHD), psychiatric and mental health disabilities, physical disabilities, social disabilities and chronic medical conditions. He/She serves as the key point of contact for students on his/her caseload. This position will also respond to faculty questions and concerns about accommodations.

This position is a predominantly in-person position requiring work on campus with standard hours between 8 AM and 5PM. All SAS staff work with accommodated exam administration which will include night and weekend hours during peak exam times.Minimum:

Bachelor's degree or Master's degree level in Education, Special Education, Psychology, Social Work, or other field appropriate to the program content. Bachelor's degree candidates must have at least two years of applicable experience. The Master's degree may substitute for the required experience.

Preferred:

Master's degree preferred. Any master's may be applicable. Experience working with university
students. Experience with the accommodations process in higher education.

This position may be subject to a Level 1 or Level 2 criminal background check

  • Participates in an interactive interview and accommodation determination process with students with disabilities. Coordinates academic accommodations for students. Addresses faculty and student concerns about accommodations. Refers students to appropriate campus resources.
  • Consults with faculty and other USF professionals regarding student accommodations and exams. This consultation may include phone calls, e-mail 548and virtual and in-person meetings.
  • Actively promotes and participates in accommodated exams to include assisting testing team with proctoring and administrative tasks related to exams. Accommodated exams require periodic adjustments to work hours to include evening and weekend hours during peak times such as final exams.
  • Contributes to the success of SAS students by promoting and participating in departmental scholarships, programs, outreach, committee work, presentations and educational opportunities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
