Associate Systems Specialist (Finance)



TransCore (TRN), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a temporary, full-time Associate Systems Specialist (Software Engineering) to intern with our Smart Pass team in Albuquerque, NM.

TransCore is looking for a motivated and curious Software Engineering Intern to join our Smart Mobility Product Initiative. As part of our team, you'll contribute to the development of scalable, user-friendly mobile solutions that aim to transform transportation systems and enhance everyday life for millions.

In this role, you'll work alongside experienced engineers, product managers, and designers to support the planning, development, and testing of new mobile applications. You'll gain exposure to the full product lifecycle-from concept to launch-while learning about mobile architecture, Agile development practices, and real-world problem-solving in a collaborative environment.

This internship is ideal for students or recent graduates in computer science, software engineering, or related fields who are excited to learn, grow, and make a meaningful impact on the future of smart mobility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

As an Engineering Intern, you will support the development of innovative mobile applications within our Smart Mobility Product Initiative. Under close supervision, your responsibilities may include:
  • Assisting in the preparation, presentation, and follow-up of technical proposals and project documentation.
  • Participating in activities that support multiple ongoing projects, gaining exposure to Agile development practices.
  • Preparing reports and summaries to communicate project progress and findings.
  • Learning and applying various technical and administrative functions related to mobile application development.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support prototype and pilot builds.
  • Helping to ensure software releases meet quality standards through testing and documentation support.
  • Contributing to the organization and maintenance of technical documentation and version control systems.
  • This role is designed to provide hands-on experience and mentorship in a collaborative, fast-paced environment focused on real-world impact.

Required Skills and qualifications
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field is preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Basic understanding of mobile application development concepts and interest in Smart Cities technologies.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools and basic data entry.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively in team settings.
  • Demonstrated conscientiousness and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and stay organized while multitasking.
  • Willingness to learn and apply new skills in a structured, supportive environment.
