The Urology Oncology Coordinator is a Registered Nurse with recognized leadership abilities and sound clinical skills who will actively assist the physician in the day to day activities and care of the urology oncology patient. As well as tend to the details of patient care in the surgical oncology service line. The Urology Oncology Coordinator takes a leading role in activities in the unit, patient rounding and care, nursing performance improvement, scheduling and working with the directors, employees, and preceptors in the orientation and training of new employees. Working in close collaboration with the Urology Oncology M.D.'s, preparing, teaching and guiding their patients through the continuum of care. Executes leadership in the following areas: Direct/Indirect Patient Care, Support of Systems, Research, Education, and Professional Leadership. He/she works collaboratively with the nursing staff, medical staff, educators, managers, and all members of the health care team to accomplish the responsibilities outlined below.
