What is a Global Demand Planner?
The Global Demand Planner is an active and visible role in the Ridge Tool Company. This individual is responsible for the company's unit forecast that drives operations, developing the long-term sales projections for strategic planning, and administration of distributor rebates. This role is located in our World HQ in Elyria, Ohio USA.
What We're Looking For
The Global Demand Planner will work in a dynamic environment within the Sales Planning Department and cross-functionally with the RIDGID Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations, and IT Departments. They will have strong understanding of business forecasting and planning best practices, analytical and reasoning skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Own the global unit forecast including systems, processes and procedures.
• Provide manufacturing operations with detailed demand projections to plan production to meet customer requirements.
• Lead, plan and coordinate global forecasting activities to ensure a consensus forecast. Provide an unbiased forecast based on historical performance, market intelligence, analysis. Challenge assumptions as necessary.
• Lead S&OP demand planning session, communicating forecast assumptions and accuracy.
• Manage the Demand Solutions unit forecast software.
• Understand economic and environmental impacts on demand and analyze to predict future demand.
• Administer distributor rebates – develop reports, prepare liability estimates, calculate payments and predict and capture impact on demand.
• Participation in all Sales and Operations Planning sessions and in a variety of cross-functional teams focused on planning and business process improvements.
Minimum Requirements
• 4 years of relevant forecasting or sales planning experience
• Demand Solutions or other Business forecasting applications experience
• Bachelor's degree in Business (preferably in data analysis, math, statistics, accounting, or finance)
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently with little supervision
• A proven ability to maintain a high level of organization and service, manage multiple projects and timelines
• Strong presentation skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, with excellent Excel skills
