IT Systems Analyst (Finance)



UC Health is hiring a full time IT Systems Analyst

Responsible for designing, implementing and supporting designated software applications in accordance with departmental standards and procedures. Works with users to define system functionality, information flow, reports and data requirements. Develops specifications and documents operational procedures, tests software, and coordinates software release procedures.

Education:

  • Associate of Applied Science or Associate of Science **2 years equivalent experience can substitute for an Associate's degree.
  • Biomedical Training.

Experience:
  • 2 years of experience in Healthcare IT, clinical systems, or biomedical engineering.

Skills:
  • Proficient in troubleshooting networked devices and middleware.
  • Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a clinical environment.
  • Understanding of medical device communication protocols.
  • Familiarity with clinical workflows and patient monitoring equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Health Informatics, Computer Science, or related field. **4 years equivalent experience can substitute for a Bachelor's degree.
  • Clinical Informatics or Integration certifications preferred (e.g., HL7, IHE, CBET, or Capsule certifications).

Experience:
  • 5 years of experience in healthcare IT, clinical systems, or biomedical engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with device integration platforms and EHRs.

Skills: Strong understanding of medical device communication protocols (HL7, IEEE 11073, DICOM, etc.).

  • Plan, scope, implement, and support medical device integration with clinical systems, including EHRs, middleware platforms, and data repositories.
  • Facilitate effective system design and definition for existing and new system functionality.
  • Collaborate with our biomedical vendor, and internal IS&T teams to assess integration requirements and ensure device compatibility.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data flow issues between devices and connected systems.
  • Perform system testing and validation of new or updated device interfaces.
  • Provide technical support during equipment deployment, upgrades, and go-lives.
  • Assist with vendor coordination and documentation of interface specifications and configurations.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, FDA regulations, and organizational cybersecurity policies.
  • Participate in change control, downtime planning, and incident response for integrated systems.
  • Train clinical and technical staff in application usage and best practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:
  • 24/7/365 on-call rotation.
  • Must be available for off-hours support and occasional weekend work during system upgrades or emergencies.
  • Exposure to hospital environments, including patient care areas and technical spaces.
