Schaeffler, a global automotive and industrial supplier, is seeking a Regional Engineer - Turning & Milling. This position will be based out of Fort Mill, SC, supporting the US, Canada, Mexico and Brazil and, specializes in Turning/Milling/Simulation for the Regional Production Technology Department and will focus on planning and execution of the most efficient manufacturing methods for new and existing products, equipment and product specification limitations.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
Provide technical support for manufacturing departments in the areas of process development and improvement, cost reduction and new product launch
Investigate production and process issues providing technical support
Perform root cause analysis and reslove issue
Conduct benchmarking studies to determine best practices/designs and future trends
Project management (cost savings and quality improvement projects)
Statistical data analysis
Monitor and manage various projects
Respond to breakdowns/ report down time and possible trends
Responsible for machine procurment
Learn to operate technologies and train team members
Manage the Key Performance Indicators
Qualified candidates will have:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology
3 - 5 years of engineering experience within Automotive industry
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access and Word
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to use CAD
Abitlity to design processes and layouts
Experience with FMEA (Failure Mode Effects Analysis), Kaizen (continuous improvemnt processes); and Poka Yoke (error proofing) techniques.
