Piedmont Plastics is looking for an exceptional Slitter Operator to add to its Wheeling, IL team. The Slitter Operator operates a variety of types slitting equipment used to convert plastic rolls to the required size.
In this position, you will be required to:
- Selects cutting tool according to type of cut specified on work order and safety attaches the tool to the equipment.
- Positions guides on machine according to specifications of cut, and turns knobs to set guides or bolts guides in place.
- Maintains a safe working area and follows established safe work practices.
- Measures cut material with ruler, tape measure, caliper or square to verify dimensions against specifications.
- Uses computer or bar code scanner to enter records, track material and control inventory.
- Removes cut stock from machine and maintains production count.
Qualifications:
- At least one year of experience working in a warehouse/production environment
- A high school diploma or GED
- Ability to lift up to a maximum of 100 pounds
- Stable work history of at least 9 months
- Experience using a computer along with calipers and tape measure
- A positive attitude and a team player
