Advanced Software Engr (Finance)



As an Advanced System Software Safety Engineer here at Honeywell, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and reliability of advanced software systems for commercial, defense and space applications. Your expertise will be essential in driving innovation and efficiency, contributing to projects that transform the way businesses operate.

In this role, you will impact the development and implementation of safety-critical software systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices to protect people and assets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the design and development of safety-critical software systems, ensuring compliance with relevant safety standards.
  • Conduct safety assessments and hazard analyses of software systems.
  • Develop and implement safety requirements and guidelines for software development.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to ensure safety considerations are integrated into the software development lifecycle.
  • Perform safety verification and validation activities to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Participate in verification reviews and design reviews, providing recommendations for improving software safety.
  • Perform the following assessments and reviews:
    • SSA - System Safety Assessment
    • SAR - Safety Assessment Report
    • FHA - Functional Hazard Analysis
    • SwHA - Software Hazard Analysis
    • SwFMEA - Software Failure Mode Effects Analysis
    • FTA - Fault Tree Analysis
    • Reliability Predictions
    • LOR Table - Level of Rigor
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in software safety engineering.
As an Advanced Software Engineer here at Honeywell, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and reliability of advanced software systems for commercial, defense and space applications. You will impact the development and implementation of safety-critical software systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices to protect people and assets. You will report directly to our Sr Engineering Manager, and you'll work out of our Clearwater, FL location on a Hybrid work schedule.YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in software safety engineering or a related field.
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD-882, DO-178 and DO-254.
  • Experience with safety analysis techniques, including FMEA, FTA, and hazard analysis.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++ and familiarity with software development tools and methodologies.
