Assistant/Associate Professor of Clinical Pharmacy (Clinician Educator), Community Pharmacy Practice, Director of Pharmacy Services (Finance)
The University of Southern California (USC) School of Pharmacy is seeking faculty candidates for the position of Director of Pharmacy Services. Responsibilities of this position include overseeing the operations and management of all five pharmacies owned and operated by the USC School of Pharmacy. Directors at each individual pharmacy will report directly to the Director of Pharmacy Services. The successful candidate will also be expected to teach content related to community pharmacy practice in the Doctor of Pharmacy Curriculum, and work with IPPE and APPE students and pharmacy practice residents. Priority will be given to candidates with prior experience in academic work, such as teaching and scholarship, along with proven excellence in managerial and leadership knowledge and skills in contemporary community pharmacy practice. The Director will work with the Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs and the Chief Operating Officer of the school Pharmacy to implement innovative patient care programs and grow the current business model.
The candidate will be appointed as Assistant/Associate Professor (Clinician Educator) within the USC School of Pharmacy. The Clinician Educator is expected to combine clinical and patient care activities with teaching/mentoring to total at least 80% of USC activities, including the outlined clinical support activities, with excellence in these pursuits demonstrated and fulfilled toward consideration for promotion. Scholarly activities and university service are important contributions for the well-rounded faculty candidate's recruitment and success. The position does not lead to consideration for tenure.
Required Credentials and Experience:
Applicants must have a PharmD degree, California licensure (or eligibility for licensure with passing the State Board exam at the first available sitting), and experience in community pharmacy management. Completion of a pharmacy residency and/or fellowship, experience in specialty pharmacy, and pharmacy education are preferred. A record of professional leadership and evidence of engagement in scholarship is also preferred.
