Business Intelligence Senior Analyst (Security)

The Business Intelligence Senior Analyst role plays an integral part in understanding metrics about our customers, products, and technological capabilities. People in this role have a business-oriented mindset combined with robust experience and technical know-how to conceptualize, build, and deploy full-scale products and solutions. Business Intelligence Senior Analysts utilize all resources in their toolkit combined with proven experience to build sustainable, useful, and inspirational products.

An ideal candidate is detail oriented with experience working with large datasets, completing a wide array of deliverables and have a successful track record being a phenomenal partner within teams and across organizations. This role makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed.

This position is open to a remote work location.

Key Responsibilities Include (but not limited to):

  • Leverage technical competence to autonomously build out a powerful analytics suite: deep experience with analytics and data design (SQL) as well as visualization tools (Tableau) is required, and coding skills (such as R or Python).
  • Utilize a strong business acumen: deep data knowledge to design KPIs, diagnostic metrics and benchmarks, including how to set effective targets to drive optimal outcomes.
  • Design and develop enterprise and departmental business intelligence, data warehousing and reporting solutions.
  • Develop and articulate data stories to Ascend Senior Leaders.
  • Partner to BI director to define multi-year BI / analytics strategy and execution roadmap.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field.
  • Eager to learn self-starter who can work in a fast-paced environment with emphasis on independence, quality, accuracy, and aesthetics.
  • Experience working in Agile development environment and must be able to multi-task and prioritize in accordance with changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Polished analytic skills, business acumen, oral and written communication skills.
  • 7+ years of experience with industry-leading database solutions (SSMS, SSIS, SQL Server, DB2, Oracle).
  • 7+ years of experience with industry-leading software solutions and concepts (GP, CRM, APIs, ETL, Datamarts, Windows Server, Microsoft Office)
  • 7+ years of experience developing content using industry-leading Business Intelligence tools (Tableau, Qlik, Power BI, Cognos, Business Objects).
  • 7+ years administration experience with Business Intelligence tools (Tableau, Qlik, Power BI, Cognos, Business Objects).
  • Additional experience with Data Science tools (R, Pyton, Alteryx) preferred
