Demand Planner (Administrative)
Overview
The Demand Planner will be an essential position in the management of the US Demand Planning and Statistical Forecast creation and review. This position will be responsible for reviewing the data inputs for Statistical forecasting, review of outliers and causals, and forecast accuracy metrics. This demand planner will be responsible for collaboration with the Supply Planners as well as with the International Demand Planning teams. This individual will also support in forecasting recommendations based on analytics. The Demand Planner role will also support in implementation of planning for quoted projects through collaboration with sales teams.
Responsibilities
The Demand Planner will be an essential position in the management of the US Demand Planning and Statistical Forecast creation and review. This position will be responsible for reviewing the data inputs for Statistical forecasting, review of outliers and causals, and forecast accuracy metrics. This demand planner will be responsible for collaboration with the Supply Planners as well as with the International Demand Planning teams. Responsibilities
- Generate monthly forecast for Finished Goods using Statistical Forecast modeling
- Develop an unconstrained Demand Plan driven by statistics, market intelligence, and product life cycle, and error analysis techniques
- Review historical demand and assess for outliers. Make adjustments to improve forecast accuracy
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on inputs that will alter the demand plan
- Collaborate with Supply Planners to evaluate products which were over-forecasted or under-forecasted as well as products with constrained supply
- Monitor NPI forecasts and coordinate with Project Managers to ensure forecast aligns to initial projects and targets
- Develop and publish forecast accuracy reports to shape future forecasting techniques
- Analyze trends in manufacturing, sales, distribution, general business conditions, and other related areas and ensure overall effectiveness of product forecasting and safety stock strategies
- Present findings in meetings with cross-functional groups and management to drive effective decision-making
- Other tasks and duties as assigned
Qualifications
- BS. degree in Supply Chain Management or equivalent experience in materials planning and statistical modeling
- 3-5 years of related work experience
- Proficiency in statistics, forecasting, and forecasting methods with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts
- Experience using ERP systems: SAP preferred
- Experience using Demand Planning software: Rapid Response required
- Experience in demand and forecast planning in a rapidly expanding sales environment
- Familiarity with Salesforce software preferred
- Highly detail-oriented
- Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
- Proficient in business computer applications MS Excel, MS Word
- Proven problem-solving abilities and analytical skills that lead to informed decisions
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a high performing team environment; detail-oriented, solid follow-up, strongly analytical, and organizational skills required
- Able to develop systematic processes to recreate complex analyses for frequent monitoring
- Ability to take a proactive approach to overcome challenges and achieve results
- Must have the ability to work independently
