Supervisor, Social Work – HIV Program – University Hospital (Project Management)

We are seeking a Supervisor to:

  • Provide leadership and supervision for the social work group in our dynamic, inclusive HIV Care and Prevention Program.
  • Manage administrative and clinical operations related to grant and social work practice requirements assuring service excellence.
  • Be responsible for supporting staff growth and development through mentoring and education.

Education:

Minimum – Master's degree in Social Work.

Work Experience:

Minimum – Three (3) years post-Master's social work experience.

Preferred – Three (3) years post-Master's social work experience in a health care setting. Previous leadership or supervisory experience. Experience working with persons in area of specialty.

Licenses and Certifications:

Minimum – Licensed in the State of Wisconsin with one of the following:

  • Certified Advanced Practice Social Worker (CAPSW)
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
  • Certified Independent Social Worker (CISW)

Preferred – Certified Clinical Social Worker in area of specialty.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of community resources such as housing , public assistance, and medication assistance programs.
  • Ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary services.
  • Ability to work well with diverse individuals/populations such as LGBTQ and racial/ethnic minorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, organizational problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to promote teamwork and to collaborate with a variety of professionals.
  • Ability to direct the workload of others and develop their competencies and talents.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements:

Sedentary: Ability to lift up to 10 pounds maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as dockets, ledgers and small tools.  Although a sedentary job is defined as one, which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and other sedentary criteria are met.

Work Schedule:

100% FTE, 40 hours per week. Shifts scheduled Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.
