The Spinx Company, a premier employer of South Carolina, operates 81 convenience stores in South Carolina and employs over 1,400 associates through its stores, food operations and related businesses. The Strategic Sourcing Specialist assists the company through process improvement to reduce costs and maximize profitability. They improve the supply chain or purchasing operations of the company. This position will negotiate with suppliers to acquire products and services at the optimal prices by utilizing strategic sourcing strategies and knowledge of the convenience store industry. Works with upper-level management to ensure that the supply chain remains in alignment with the needs of the company. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. · Sourcing suppliers and building a rapport with current and potential vendors. · Serve as primary point of contact for ensuring products and services are accurately procured to meet the company's objectives. · Implement and maintain inventory optimization strategies for the company. · Develop cost reduction strategies and savings plans related to sourcing. · Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures. · Responsible for drafting contracts to be reviewed by company and vendors to include all details. · Represent company in negotiating contracts and formulating policies with suppliers. · Ensure that all contracts relating to product sourcing contain all details negotiated within the contract including pricing and quantity. · Evaluate and compile quotes with detailed cost assessments. · Prepare appropriate reports and analysis to aid in decision making for sourcing these products. · Analyze and report on P&L variances for these programs. · Assist in the implementation and process improvement for ordering, tracking, invoicing and receiving product on site or offsite. · Works with all departments to determine and facilitate equipment needs.
