Digital Media Specialist (Finance)



Job Description

Position Summary:
The New York County District Attorney's Office (DANY) has an immediate opening for a Digital Media Specialist in its Communications Bureau. The Digital Media Specialist will create and disseminate digital content which showcases the office's work to fight crime and reform the criminal justice system. In this role, the Digital Media Specialist will be responsible for using digital media to engage Manhattan residents and strengthen bonds between local communities and law enforcement.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Serve as lead content creator, social media strategist, and web manager for DANY.
  • Conceive, produce, and circulate high-quality infographics, photos, videos, newsletters, and other shareable content.
  • Align branding and messaging across the office's publications and digital resources.
  • Perform social listening and produce social media reports.
  • Provide event support and digital photography at community events throughout New York City.
  • Maintain the DANY website.
  • Perform related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Advanced writing, graphic design, and editing (i.e. video, photo, and audio) skills.
  • Proficiency in WordPress, Adobe Creative Suite applications, basic HTML and CSS.
  • Professional photography skills
  • Ability to work with frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workflow.
  • Ability to follow directions and apply proper policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff, law enforcement representatives, and outside visitors.

Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required.

Preferred Requirements:
  • At least two years of experience creating digital content for an organization.
  • Digital photography skills.

Commitment:
  • One (1) year commitment to hiring bureau.
