Vice President, Strategic Initiatives (Finance)

We are currently seeking a dynamic individual to lead external facing operations for our Medical Stop Loss Product. This role will report into the Head of Stop Loss and will be accountable for managing various aspects of external broker relationships, client relationships, third party administrator relationships and some vendor relationships as well as executing both internal and external processes to ensure successful delivery of our Stop Loss Product to customers and brokers. This role will have direct and indirect responsibility for the day-to-day operations for all facets of the product, which include the following workstreams: RFP intake, underwriting, claims, billing, and broker relationships, reporting, and sales support. This leader will be expected to establish goals and objectives, remove obstacles to drive results of all workstreams, and gather data to evaluate business results and recommend changes.

Through influence and interactions with functional partners and external partners, this individual will own many Stop Loss Operational functions and will execute the roadmap to ensure profitable growth of the business.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Leads certain day-to-day external relationships with brokers, clients, client health plan administrators, and certain vendors for alternative multiyear operational models.
  • Contributes to insourcing strategy for MSL functions over the long term.
  • Provides external perspective and context as the SME for the Distribution and Marketing team on the external MSL marketplace.
  • Proactively sets direction of product via establishing product features and enhancing policy language.
  • Identifies early indicators, emerging issues, and business needs, and recommends and implements solutions to address.
  • Supports and preps the P&L Leader in any internal report outs and meeting with steering committees / SLT.
  • Provides change management leadership as necessary.
  • Maintains project plans for product and process improvements, incorporating feedback from all constituents.
  • Stays apprised of market and competitive trends to identify opportunities and challenges

Qualifications:

  • Financial Services Experience: Deep knowledge of and direct experience with the Stop Loss business. Minimum 5 years experience in Stop Loss.
  • Stakeholder Management - Has strong relationship development and influencing skills having managed successfully across multiple stakeholders including distribution, operations, risk & controls, regulators, third-party vendors, and customers.
  • Strategic Mindset - Brings an innovative approach to building and maintaining a Stop Loss product organization leveraging external market information along with customer and segment insights.
  • Customer Centered - Ability to identify opportunities across domains and create solutions to provide a unified customer experience across products and segments.
  • Talent/Culture Creator - Supports a culture of inclusiveness and diversity that develops and motivates employees.
  • Willing to obtain any required designations, certifications or licensing as needed to fulfill the role.

What we offer you:

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $185,100.00 to $250,500.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
