Position Overview
An exciting new opportunity has emerged at Epiq due to the maturity and evolution of our human resources shared services model. Epiq is seeking a Global Payroll Manager with strong U.S./Canada, Europe and Asia payroll experience. Epiq's US payroll is fully outsourced to a Workday certified payroll partner using Epiq's Workday payroll tenant. The Global Payroll Manager will manage the relationship with the vendor to ensure our U.S. payroll runs accurately, efficiently, and stays in compliance with federal, state, and local laws. This role will require Workday Payroll configuration experience to ensure earnings/deductions, taxes, and other payroll related items are kept up to date. The Global Payroll Manager will supervise staff in Poland and India and will be responsible for operational oversight of Epiq's global payroll footprint.
Job Responsibilities
Manage relationship with US payroll vendor and other global payroll vendors and/or service providers to ensure processes are compliant, streamlined, and deliverables achieved. Manage SLAs, governance (day to day, monthly, annual, etc.), escalations, and compliance updates
Payroll Interface Management (collection of time from 3rd party time tracking systems, adjustments, one time payments, interface issues with their vendors, etc.)
Workday Payroll Configuration (earnings, deductions, period schedules, tax updates, etc.)
Partner with the HR Service Center team to ensure we are delivering a cohesive service delivery model for Tier 1 and handoff to Tier 2 support for payroll related matters
Project management of global payroll initiatives and/or special projects (annual bonus run, YE, acquisitions, divestitures, change in earnings/deductions etc.)
Assist leadership with defining and deploying Epiq's global payroll strategy and vision; partner and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure strategy viability.
Drive for continuous improvement of payroll systems, tools, and associated processes by identifying and recommending solutions to address process improvement and automation opportunities to streamline and optimize operational effectiveness
Partner and collaborate with Human Resources, Finance, and IT to evaluate reporting, communicate updates and prioritize improvement opportunities and to ensure seamless systems integration, process efficiency, and standardization.
Manage the performance, goals and development of team including formal supervision of the global payroll team.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge of current legal regulations and reporting requirements by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications.
Required Qualifications & Characteristics
Bachelor's degree (Finance, Accounting or similar) required
Vendor management experience with a comprehensive payroll outsourcing model
Experience in multi-country payroll processing with a strong working knowledge of international, federal, state, FICA and local tax withholdings regulations
Experience with Workday US Payroll
Effective Leadership, management and coaching skills
Ability to foster effective relationships with internal and external business partners
Ability to plan activities, foresee needs and potential issues, and to solve problems efficiently and effectively.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and customer service experience required
Organized, efficient, with ability to handle multiple tasks and resolve conflicts effectively
Understanding of financial reporting and ability to develop and implement effective internal controls #LI-RC1
