Microelectronics Development Project Leader

The Microelectronics Development Project Leader works collaboratively with cross functional development teams to deliver verified microelectronic product designs with validated manufacturing processes to support the medical implantable device market.  The successful project leader possesses a background that includes experience in engineering, project management, and the ability to effectively communicate with the customer and at all levels in the company.  The number of projects assigned at any one time can vary but, generally, the project leader will be managing multiple projects that are running concurrently. 

Primary Responsibilities Candidate Profile
  • New Business Development
    • Customer Contact – work with customer and MSEI experts to define project requirements and translate these requirements into engineering and manufacturing solutions.
    • Product Development Team Leader– lead cross functional engineering teams to develop innovative solutions to meet both the customer requirements and the manufacturing goals of MSEI.
    • Production Life Cycle Management-  remain primary customer contact through the full product lifecycle, collaborating across customer teams, supply chain, engineering, and manufacturing teams to address continuity of supply, quality concerns, and manufacturing process improvements throughout the full product lifecycle.

  • Project Management
    • Lead cross functional engineering team meetings including customer representatives as necessary.
      • Translation of customer specifications
      • Quotes
      • Engineering activities to achieve product designs and the corresponding manufacturing process developments necessary to deliver products of the highest quality that meet MSEI's manufacturing goals.
      • Engineering teams include hardware design engineers, CAD designers, component engineers, mechanical engineers, test engineers, industrial design engineers, and supply chain managers.
    • Establish and manage projects to a development schedule and budget. Work with management to secure capital equipment investment approvals as necessary to achieve the goals of the project.
    • Translation of customer requirements to project deliverables. Ensure documentation and planning activities are thorough and defensible.  Lead project milestone activities to demonstrate accomplishment of project milestone deliverables.
    • Development and management of project budget and project schedule.

  • Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of the manager.

Education / Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 5 years of experience in electronics manufacturing.
  • 2 years of experience in product development project management for electronics manufacturing products.
  • Knowledge of statistical process control, design of experiments and design for manufacturability.

Additional Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to work with all levels of the Company.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, network and e-mail systems.
