Primary Focus

Provides pre-sales consultation, training, and education to partners with the goal of helping them build and/or enhance their practice, by expanding their business with new and emerging vendors/products/services (i.e., solutions), and with a practical result of growing their business with Ingram at a faster rate. Builds reseller and vendor relationships and gain trusted status for transparent collaboration and planning of business needs. Comprehensively educates partners on best-in-class IT solutions to facilitate the building of practices in areas of focus. Raises the technical proficiency of the customer to win more business through sound product and technical focus and market relevance. Understands the partner sales organization and identifies and engages key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively introduce / demonstrate / train on: Modern business needs; desired business outcomes; market trends and market opportunities; emerging technologies, vendors & products; & high-margin professional services (altogether known as "solutions").
  • Enable partners to become more proactive, profitable & services-driven "trusted advisors" to their end-user clientele.
  • Provide relevant thought leadership and strategic advice / guidance to decision-makers and key stakeholders to influence them to invest in accelerating their growth through Ingram Micro.

What does it mean to be a Sr Technical Enablement Engineer?

Consistently creates desired positive outcomes with partners that are measured in aspirational growth above and beyond the herd (e.g., typically 2x, 3x or 4x+ greater growth vs. the baseline population in the given technology or vendor category/ies). Proactively presents information on new and emerging products, technologies, and services to help reseller partners to capitalize on new market opportunities and increase end user reach and loyalty. Effectively articulate benefits of technologies, products and services over speeds and feeds. Begin to drive a more agnostic and consultative partner relationship in results-getting. Takes a broader and more comprehensive approach to partner development.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Effective Sr Technical Enablement Engineers in this role typically need to hold advanced badges and certifications in "advanced solutions" technology categories. As well as exhibiting high levels of executive presence, business acumen, sales acumen, and technical acumen.

Requirements:

  • Specialist in technical or business skills. Individuals with a customer focus have developed the acumen to cultivate and develop lasting customer relations.
  • Four-year college degree (or additional relevant experience in a related field).
  • Minimum 5 years' functional experience including a minimum of 3 years' specific experience.
  • Ability to make significant contributions to processes and systems.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $97,100.00 - $165,100.00 per year.

The ranges above reflect the potential annual base pay across the U.S. for all roles; the applicable base pay range will depend on the candidate's primary work location, pay grade, and variable compensation plan. Individual base pay within each range depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time of hire. New hires starting base pay generally falls in the bottom half (between the minimum and midpoint) of a pay range.
