System Vehicle Lead (WPB) (Project Management)
The Systems Engineering and Validation (SEV) Organization is looking for experienced, high energy individuals to fulfill System Vehicle Lead Positions (SVL) within the SEV Systems Cell. The SVL serves as the Engine Integrated Product Team (EIPT) Lead over one or more test vehicles within a program Engine Development Plan (EDP). They have the overall system level responsibility for establishing and communicating the requirements for their assigned vehicles. Additional tasks include working with the Validation Manager, CIPTs and Core engineering groups to establish the vehicle's test objectives or mission, and to communicate the associated vehicle level requirements to the Assembly, Instrumentation, and Test (AIT) organizations within SEV. The SVL, as the EIPT lead, will work with AIT to ensure their level 3 schedules align with the key milestones for each test vehicle in addition to the EDP. The SVL then leads the team to ensure successful execution of the defined AIT task. Another key responsibility is working with the EIPT, Deputy Validation Manager, and Val Manager to assess and communicate risks, develop contingencies, and ensure engine configuration change control is maintained throughout the vehicle's life cycle, and ensure requirements are delivered to the plan and budget.
Experience/Qualifications
The selected candidate will have a high degree of interaction with various supporting disciplines within SEV and Engineering. The candidate will be expected to provide leadership to an integrated team supporting engine assembly, instrumentation, and testing often in a high-pressure environment while working with minimum supervision. Candidate must possess excellent organization, communication and project management skills. Candidate must also possess good interpersonal skills and be able to work both independently and in a team environment. A current active U.S. Government Secret level security clearance may be required.
Education Certification
BS Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent with a minimum of 7 years' experience. Strong Systems Engineering/ Project Management experience. Preferred qualifications would include development engine leadership experience during engine assembly, instrumentation and test phases, performance/data analysis and reduction, hardware and configuration experience, planning and scheduling.
