Assistant Plant Manager (Biotech)
What you'll do:
• Lead the Safety Culture and ensure the safety of all team members
• Lead Department Managers in the Production, Quality, Maintenance, Shipping/Receiving, Continuous Improvement and Scheduling Functions
• Will be accountable for the performance and results of each function
• Adapt departmental plans and priorities to address resource needs and operational challenges
• Ensure the team has necessary resources and removes barriers where appropriate
• Set clear and consistent expectations for performance, hold teams and individuals accountable
• Leverage resources available both at the plant and division levels in order to accomplish goals
• Prioritize the necessary resources and define the tactical steps required to accomplish goals on time and ensure completion Resolve issues related to the organization's needs & constraints
• Provide technical guidance to employees, colleagues and/or customers
• Coordinate and supervise the daily activities of the business and each Function
• Exhibit a strong work ethic and focus on Lean Manufacturing, Safety, Quality, Cost, Productivity, Delivery and P&L management
• Make decisions guided by policies, procedures and strategic business plans
• Exercise independent judgment successfully
• Special projects and other duties as assigned
What you'll need:
• 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing management role, preferably as an Operations Manager, Assistant Plant Manager or Plant Manager Role.
• Bachelor's Degree
• Ability to Relocate
• The ability to work in a varied outdoor environment (cold, hot, dry, dusty, rainy)
• Experience in an industrial steel manufacturing plant preferred
• Experience in a LEAN manufacturing organization preferred
• Able to apply quality control and manufacturing best practices for customer specification, code and regulatory & testing requirements
• Microsoft Office suite experience and proficiency with Excel
• Excellent ability to communicate and interface with peers and customer representatives
• Strong analytical, organizational, decision-making abilities
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Flexibility to be available after hours, weekends and holidays as needed to support operations
• Well organized with the ability to perform in a fast-paced work environment
Working Conditions:
• Full- time position
• Work environment includes plant, warehouse, production, and non-production areas
• This position may require work/maintenance coverage beyond the normal hours, shift, and on weekends/holidays
• Ability to tolerate both high and low temperatures, loud noises typical of a manufacturing plant.
